HB 342 passed during the 2025 legislative session amending KRS 158.1411 Financial literacy requirements for high school graduation. For students entering 9th grade on or after July 1, 2025, successful completion of a one-credit financial literacy course is a Kentucky public high school graduation requirement. Refer to KRS 158.1411 for the specific course requirements and the Financial Literacy Elective Course Code Guidance document for course considerations.

The following grade 5 health standard does not align with Senate Bill 150 (2023) and should not be included in curriculum or instruction at grade 5 or below: “5.1.6. Describe basic male and female reproductive body parts and their functions as well as the physical, social and emotional changes that occur during puberty.”
